What’s new in sustainable finance?
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has published four technical documents as part of the early steps in revising the Corporate Net-Zero Standard. These publications explore potential changes in scope 3 emissions target setting, including the use of environmental attribute certificates. A draft of the revised Corporate Net-Zero Standard will be released for public consultation at the end of Q4 2024.
The UK standards body BSI has revised its asset management standards to align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), following updates by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). These updated standards aim to enhance an organization's sustainability by managing costs, risks, and operational performance throughout the asset life cycle, thus supporting both short- and long-term goals.
The Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) has published a 57-page document featuring 12 case studies from Asia-Pacific financial institutions to aid the global financial community in developing their own net-zero transition plans.
