Forest & Paper: A sector with tree-mendous potential
Wood, one of the oldest materials used by mankind, has seen its role transformed by the industrial revolution and the rise of fossil fuels.
Although its weight in the GDP of nations has decreased, absolute wood consumption has continued to rise, fuelled by demographic and economic growth, intensifying the pressure on our forest ecosystems. Given the climatic challenges associated with human management of forests, companies in this sector will most likely face growing scrutiny. Forests play a key role in regulating the climate. Preserving forest ecosystems is therefore imperative if we hope to mitigate global warming.
During this session, Carbon 4 Finance will present the Carbon Impact Analytics methodology and the sectorial analyst expert Marguerite D'Estienne d'Orves will discuss the specificity of this Forest and Paper sector and the results of the Forest and Paper campaign gathered in our new publication, which will be put online the same week.
